Welcome! Approaching 13 weeks!

Kevin and I are embarking on a brand new journey, becoming parents! Around May 1st, 2010, we're expecting a wonderful bundle of joy - which makes us currently about 13 weeks pregnant.

We're so excited for this new chapter in our lives and are rapidly preparing for our lives to change pretty dramatically. Though, I think Willow might have the hardest adjustment overall - she'll quickly go from being #1 in our lives to #2.

Quick synopsis of how baby K is doing. We had a 12 week ultrasound last week where they confirmed that the baby is developing well. Baby Bingo (as our 3 year old nephew lovingly refers to it, so it's caught on with Kevin and I) has arms, legs, a defined torso, skull, brains, etc. In other words, it's a real life baby!

I keep an eye on two sites to track the size of the baby. One compares the baby to different fruit. Last week we were a plum, this week Baby K is the size of a peach! More importantly, this week the baby is forming teeth and vocal cords - though not as develop as they will be when all the crying starts! In addition, the intestines are moving from the umbilical cord to the tummy. SO much more normal :)

The other site is just for men, made up by a man who was sick of his wife comparing his child to fruit. This compares the baby to "manly things". This week our baby is "now the size of the gas cap on your car."

I've been really sick this week - more than any other week. Every book says that "at the start of your second tri-mester, you will feel much better". Yeah, still waiting for that to happen :)

Below are some pictures of the newest Kroner/Miller - we can't wait to see him/her grow in the next 6 months and for you to share in this journey with us!

  4. I love ultrasound pictures! They truly are so special. I started reading your journey in the middle of your journey. It is so much fun to go back and read from the start. Especially because I get to compare it to my own journey. So far, I am impressed with your level of enthusiasm so early! Unfortunately, that didn't really start for me until week 17. (the sickness really got the best of me and I became worlds crankiest/ugliest prego lady in the world. lol)
