Today is my mother's and Binga's grandma Bookie's 60th birthday. While I wanted to give her a grandbaby on her birthday, it doesn't look like that will happen today :) So, in lieu of that, I'll share my top 10 reasons that I'm glad she's my mama (there are 60 but I'll let those be between us).
1) She taught me to stand up for what I believe in
2) She taught me the importance of having God in my life
3) She showed me what true love can be like through her relationship my father - that's something Kevin and I strive to have everyday
4) She always believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself
5) She let Matt, Susann, and I develop into our own people – never challenging us to become something we aren’t
6) Her uncompromising belief in the people she loves
7) She taught me that no matter where I live or where I move to, I can make the most out of the experience
8) She accepted and loves my husband as another child – not a “child in law”
9) She put so much emphasis on the importance of education and afforded me the opportunities I have now
10) Because she is my mama. And I love her.
